At Hearts Journey Stables, USDF Silver Medalist and USDF licensed “L” Graduate Melissa Morehouse brings passion, precision, and decades of experience to every ride. As Owner, Manager, and Head Trainer, she blends her background as an FEI Competitor and ARIA Level II Certified Instructor (Dressage & Hunt Seat) with a teacher’s eye for detail and a genuine love for helping riders and horses grow together.
Melissa’s time training in Wellington, Florida, and her European horse-buying experience have given her a global perspective on the sport. Combined with a degree in Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, she’s able to create customized training plans that build confidence, develop partnership, and deliver measurable results for each horse and rider team.
Since opening Hearts Journey Stables in 2005, Melissa’s students have earned over 75 year-end awards through Bucks County Horse Park, LVDA, and ESDCTA, with many advancing to Dressage and Eventing Championships. Her riders have achieved 12 overall Champion titles, 2 USDF Bronze Medals, and 7 ESDCTA Silver Medals—a reflection of her commitment to long-term growth and excellence.
Beyond her students’ success, Melissa’s sales horses consistently stand out on the national stage—each of the last five horses she trained and sold has gone on to earn top-level competition results and national recognition.
Additionally, Melissa earned her USDF “L” Education Program certification, demonstrating her strong foundation in the principles of dressage judging and training. This achievement deepened her ability to evaluate horses and riders with a discerning, educated eye—enhancing her instruction and training programs. Melissa brings this insight into every lesson, helping her students understand not only how to ride effectively, but also why correct biomechanics and harmony between horse and rider are essential for success at every level.
